The stunt was streamed live via satellite to more than 500 cinemas across Europe, where fans sat on the edge of their seats as the adrenaline-charged events in London unfolded.
Before the event, audiences watched a broadcast from motorsports champion and Nitro front man Travis Pastrana, who gave a history of the motorcycle backflip, reminding everyone exactly what they were about to see. This is Nitro Circus’s third Guinness World Records title.
The stunt marked the release of Nitro Circus: The Movie 3D. The film sees Nitro’s unique brand of action sports and entertainment burst onto the big screen in phenomenal 3D for encore performances in selected sites from this weekend.
Ben Backhouse, Guinness World Records adjudicator, said: "It’s been an officially amazing evening here at The O2. We’ve seen some incredible motorcycle stunts and what a better way to finish the evening with a brand new Guinness World Records title."
