In this new role, Freeman will develop etv's cross platform formats for brands and "new" broadcasters such as , and .
Freeman joins etv from Endemol UK where he held the role of senior development producer.
At Endemol, he developed brand-funded entertainment formats for online platforms and created digital angles for shows from Endemol's portfolio, including 'Big Brother' and 'The Match'.
Prior to Endemol, Freeman worked for Sky, developing interactive TV products such as the Sky Gamepad and Sky Gnome, before taking on the role of new media producer for flagship channel Sky One.
Freeman said: "This is a wonderful opportunity to work with a company that really understands how content is changing. I look forward to creating new ideas that will really engage audiences and delight etv's clients."
He will begin his new role on May 5, reporting to Adrian Swift, chief creative officer of etv media group.
