BBC Worldwide expands Digital Delivery team

LONDON - BBC Worldwide has appointed Dan Heaf as director of digital ventures in its Digital Delivery team, as part of a number of senior appointments to the division.

Heaf joins from BBC Vision and Audio & Music, where he has been responsible for some of 's first dealings with social media, as well as directing Radio 1's digital strategy.

He will be tasked with growing new ideas and concepts through their initial stages prior to full development.

Other appointments to the division include Alex White, who has been assigned to the new-launch director role. White was previously director of AOP UK, where she worked across all aspects of the UK web industry.

She will be responsible for leading many of BBC Worldwide's web delivery projects from conception to launch.

Matt Walton, previously of BBC Audio & Music Interactive, has been appointed as launches editor. He has worked on many BBC entertainment, culture and music websites, leading the development of Collective, Film Network, Seven Ages of Rock and the recent new look to the BBC Music .

The Digital Delivery team formed in May this year, as a central resource for all of BBC Worldwide's online consumer activity.

In the future, the team will be developing, advising and delivering online opportunities for other BBC Worldwide brands and looking at online community and retail opportunities across the company.

Further appointments to the division include Duncan Swain as creative director, Craig Musker as head of development, Paul Owen as operations director and Chris Hankins as head of user experience.
