BBC One's 'The Silence' draws 4.5 million viewers

The final episode of BBC One thriller 'The Silence' won the primetime ratings war last night, with an audience of 4.5 million across BBC One and BBC HD, according to unofficial overnight figures.

The first episode in the new series of 'Undercover Boss' performed strongly, giving Channel 4 its biggest audience of the week with 3.7 million viewers.

'Undercover Boss' had an audience of around 3.3m people on Channel 4 between 9pm and 10pm, and was the second most watched channel during the hour with a 14.2% share of the available audience. A further 452,900 watched it on Channel 4+1.

'Homes from Hell' on ITV1 was the third most viewed show in the 9pm to 10pm slot, with an average 2.8m viewers, 12.2% of the available audience.

Meanwhile, BBC Two's 'Victorian Pharmacy' was watched by an average of 2.6 million viewers with an 11.2% share, and the 2000 movie 'Romeo Must Die' on Five was watched by an average of one million, a 5.2% share.
