The credit-card brand already has a contract with concert promo-ter Live Nation, giving its customers access to exclusive tickets for gigs, music updates and competitions.

Barclaycard also signed a sponsorship deal with the Mercury Music Prize last month. As part of the tie-up, monthly concerts at The Hospital Club in Covent Garden, London, will be staged under the Barclaycard Mercury Prize Sessions banner.

The Barclaycard brand will now feature at upcoming events such as Capital Radio's Summer Ball. Global Radio's network will also broadcast selected Mercury and Live Nation events. In addition, Barclaycard customers will be  able to reserve tickets and access special offers.

'A big share of customer spending is on music, and we are looking to initiate more partnerships with music brands,' said Paul Troy, director of advert-ising at Barclaycard.
