Babelgum announces content agreements

LONDON - Internet TV company Babelgum has announced agreements with 25 independent owners and distributors of professional video content.

The content partners include Ministry of Sound TV, Shine, IMG, 3DD, Off The Fence, Journeyman Films, Entertainment Rights, Film Chest and Breakthrough Films.

In addition Babelgum will showcase films entered in the annual London-based Soho Shorts Festival (28 July-3 August), which features work by both established and new filmmakers.

Covering six categories, films by all the 2007 finalists will be broadcast on a dedicated channel that will also provide access to a wide selection of films produced for the festival over the past eight years.

Babelgum.com, which began a phased opening of its service last week, allows users to watch free, on-demand and personalized TV channels. Using niche and mainstream content, users can create their own channels. Rather than user-generated clips, Babelgum broadcasts professional video material featuring a range of topics from lifestyle to sports.
