LONDON - B&Q marketing and customer proposition director Jo Kenrick has left the DIY retailer after three years.

B&Q marketing director Jo Kenrick departs

Kenrick, who was placed 52nd in Marketing's 2008 Power 100 list of industry leaders, had been the only woman on the B&Q board.

Prior to joining B&Q Kenrick worked at, Camelot, Wilson Connelly, Asda and Woolworths. She was one of the first women in the RAF.

The company said in a statement that Kenrick's departure 'comes after a highly successful three year period, during which she has markedly improved the effectiveness of B&Q's advertising through the reintroduction of the staffer adverts and successfully negotiated and won the sponsorship rights to the CH4 property stream. She has also been responsible for a programme of development at diy.com, resulting in 30% sales increase year on year and reaching one million customers in a week.'

Rob Bacon will now join the B&Q board as customer & employee brand director from his current position as COO of Carphone Warehouse Europe. Bacon will focus on bringing together 'the customer and staff agendas into one strand of focus and activity for B&Q.'
