Although Kenrick had the wider remit of marketing and customer proposition direct, Scarr will now head up the group's marketing, reporting into the retailer's commercial director, John Colley, a position which also encompasses marketing following a board restructure.
Scarr was previously director of brand advertising at B&Q and it is understood that the new title will be an expansion of his previous job duties.
It was believed that Rob Bacon would join the B&Q board as customer and employee brand director from his current position as COO of Carphone Warehouse Europe and focus on bringing together 'the customer and staff agendas into one strand of focus and activity for B&Q.' However in January it was announced that Bacon would remain with Carphone Warehouse.
A review is currently underway for the DIY retailer's £40m advertising account, which is being handled by the AAR.
