The company is offering to donate up to 拢20 to the football club of choice in England and Scotland for every new broadband user. The company says that the donations will be especially welcomed by teams in the first and second divisions of the English league, after the collapse of ITV Digital last year left many in financial difficulty.
It is just one of a host of promotional offers launched by broadband suppliers on the back of BT's big advertising push, highlighting the benefits of surfing the internet via a high-speed connection.
Alan Hutchinson, spokesman for Wycombe Wanderers FC, said: "We are delighted to be involved with Applica Broadband's 'give something back' campaign -- the financial support is great for us, as it is for other clubs in these cost-conscious times.
"Also, backing the growth of broadband demonstrates to fans just how serious we are about giving them the best online experience. Our official website is the only Wycombe Wanderers site to offer full TV, video and audio features, with player and manager interviews already proving popular."
Applica started life producing intranet and extranet services, but expanded into offering broadband as clients increasingly needed to have faster access to the internet.
