, once a darling of the dotcom world, is hoping to attract those connected to BT and AOL broadband services, by undercutting the monthly fee, charging 拢25.99, and offering them the chance to move without buying a new modem. Breathe is also trying to attract new broadband customers by cutting its prices.
Other companies offering broadband connection presently charge between 拢27 and 拢27.99 a month for connection. Breathe is attempting to position the move as a simple low-price offer replacing complicated marketing offers.
Anita Hockin, head of sales and marketing at Breathe, said: "We want to make the customer's choice simpler. With the amount of confusing marketing and promotional packages on offer, Breathe Broadband is a simple package with no hidden charges and no catches."
She added: "It also allows dissatisfied users of other broadband providers to join without the need to buy an expensive starter pack or modem."
At the height of the dotcom boom, Breathe was offering free internet access for life for 拢50. Only months later in mid 2000 it stopped its service, blaming excessive use.
Breathe.com, what was the UK's fourth-largest ISP, collapsed into administration in December 2000 with losses of 拢50m. It was bought by the communications company Affinity in June 2001.
