All four major labels - SonyBMG, Universal, EMI and Warner - as well as independent labels such as Beggar's Banquet and Cooking Vinyl, are offering music on the Amazon store.
Albums priced at £3 include Take That's 'The Circus' and Kings of Leon's 'Only By The Night'.
The 59p per song minimum price undercuts Apple's iTunes Music Store by 20p. The store's other song price points are 69p, 79p and 89p.
On the today there are just 20,000 songs priced at 59p compared to 1m at 69p.
