Scott's company RSA Films and digital design agency Ag8 have formed a joint venture called Purefold to produce a  series of  short sci-fi films.

WPP, Aegis and Publicis are helping Purefold to find brands to get involved in the productions. There interest has been increased by the involvement of brands such as TfL (pictured) sponsoring online dramas such as 'Sofia's Diary'.

The film-makers will draw on online conversation in social networks to create plots and dialogue.

The seven inter-linked films will be posted on YouTube using a creative commons license to encourage wide-spread dissemination across the web.

Purefold is an open media franchise designed for brands, platforms, filmmakers, product developers and communities to collaboratively imagine our near future.

The venture aims to explore the subject of empathy by questioning what it means to be human.

According to Ag8, Purefold will give brands an ‘alternative route to brand integration than traditional product placement and embrace invention within a narrative framework'.
