The broadcaster is hosting an Al Jazeera branded channel on , featuring segments from its current affairs output, which includes 'Everywoman', 'Inside Iraq', 'Inside Story' and 'Listening Post'.
Al Jazeera said it would be inviting users to rate programmes, engage in debate, and submit their own contributions. The broadcaster is also planning a series of exclusive web-only programmes, which will begin with UN correspondent Mark Seddon's 'Political Bytes'.
Al Jazeera English belatedly launched in November last year. It is expected around 10 to 15 new items will appear on Al Jazeera English's YouTube site every week.
Russell Merryman, editor-in-chief of web and new-media assets at Al Jazeera English, said: "The new Al Jazeera English branded channel on YouTube will allow us to approach and interact with our viewers in a new way and will give us a chance to target other potential audiences through this new global platform."
Nigel Parsons, managing director of Al Jazeera English, said: "We have significantly built on our distribution since launch and now reach well in excess of 90m cable and satellite households worldwide."
