20th Century Fox targets Bafta members in online push

LONDON - 20th Century Fox has hired Spinnaker to handle a direct and online campaign targeting Bafta members ahead of next year's Orange British Academy Film Awards ceremony.

Work being carried out by Spinnaker starts next week and includes the launch of a microsite with information about films and screenings, as well as email messages.

The brief is to focus on three forthcoming Fox Searchlight films, which are eligible for nomination: 'Huckabees', a comedy with Jude Law and Dustin Hoffman; 'Sideways', the latest film by 'About Schmidt' director Alexander Payne; and a biopic of human sexuality researcher Alfred Kinsey, called 'Kinsey' starring Liam Neeson.

Spinnaker managing partner Brooke Dalton-Brewer said: "We wanted to keep the site simple for members, and have something that is classy and stylish and gives information about the films, the cast, crew and trailers."

The 4,000 Bafta members being targeted will also be able to book places at special screenings through the site. The award ceremony takes place in February 2005.
