20th Century Fox hires EA's King as marketing director

LONDON - 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has poached Electronic Arts' director of consumer marketing Al King as its new marketing director.

King, 39, spent 10 years with EA, where he was behind campaigns for some of the company's biggest computer and videogames including 'World Cup 1998' and 'The Sims'.

King began his career at Coca-Cola and Schweppes before moving to the Adam Leisure Group as brand manager for hand-held LCD games.

John Stanley, managing director of 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, said: "Al's appointment comes as we launch into the busiest and most exciting quarter of the year for our DVD and VHS releases.

"With his experience from the games market and specifically his involvement in launching a list of huge event brands into a passionate, fast-moving market, Al has all the attributes to lead our marketing team forward into 2005."
