Organised by the Confex Group, the event already has the backing of the ABPCO, AEO, AEV, BVEP, ESSA, Eventia, HBAA, ICCA, ISES, MIA and MPI.
Confex Group director Duncan Reid said: "The industry is ready to make its voice heard and we'll only be able to achieve this if we can champion our issues with one collective voice."
Earlier this year Event magazine spoke to industry leaders about the number of event associations that operate and whether or not it would be better to have one association with a number of sectors falling under its main umbrella.
In an exclusive , Eventia CEO Izania Downie said:
"My concern over this initiative is that the task ahead is a mammoth one - I hope people don't underestimate what it will take to make this happen."
"In the past, various associations including ours in its former guise of ITMA have tried to create something similar and for many reasons, no-one has ever been able to pull it off successfully. The biggest task facing any association is financing and resource and a task such as this requires a huge amount of both."
But Downie said the initiative was a "great idea" and urged the industry to "put aside individual agendas and try to make this happen".
