Yahoo!'s head of news and information division, Neeraj Khemlani, has been appointed by Hearst Corporation and will take up the post of vice-president and special assistant to the chief executive of digital media.

In her weekly staff memo last Friday (February 20), Bartz explained that the upcoming week would be "a biggie", with sources hinting that a major announcement could come by mid-week.
Khemlani said that his departure was not related to Yahoo!'s imminent restructuring, although he was rumoured as a possible candidate to head one of Yahoo!'s three major media divisions.

Bartz is likely to employ a traditional method of managerial organisation, said the blog, with a chief operating officer, chief technology officer and chief marketing officer who will report directly to her as opposed to Yahoo!'s "matrix" style of management.

Analysts have been expecting a managerial reshuffle since Bartz took the helm at Yahoo!. She has made clear her intentions to grow the current no. 2 internet company as a worthy competitor to Google, instead of piecing the company apart to rival firms, such as Microsoft.
