Yahoo! Europe has stolen another radio sales person from Capital
Advertising to work in its rapidly expanding European sales
operation.
Rowan Link, group agency manager at Capital, quits the company in May
when she will take up her new position at Yahoo! Europe as European
promotions and programming manager.
Link will be working closely with Fru Hazlitt, currently sales director
at Capital, who will leave the company in three weeks to head the UK
office of Yahoo!’s European sales operation.
Link has worked in sales at Capital for five years and leaves behind a
team of two sales executives and two account planners.
Chris Bennett, sales controller at Capital, said that while Link would
always remain loyal to the Capital brand, new media is an exciting
challenge for sales people from radio backgrounds.
Link is the third person in the past eight months to leave Capital for
Yahoo!. In addition to Hazlitt, Martina King, ex-managing director of
Capital, left to become the dotcom’s UK and Ireland managing
director.
Capital will not recruit a replacement for Link until Linda Smith
replaces Hazlitt as sales director in April.
