X Factor launches fashion microsite

LONDON - ITV has launched a dedicated fashion and beauty microsite within The X Factor website in an attempt to generate new advertising sales targeted at the 16-34 audience.

The xfactorfashion.itv.com site is the first spin-off microsite, designed by FremantleMedia Enterprises, with bespoke video content.

The pages offer visitors a behind-the-scenes look as the stars and contestants prepare for the rehearsals and live shows. The site includes features on the finalists' wardrobes, backstage gossip and top tips from the show's resident fashion, hair and beauty experts.

ITV's online sales team is pushing video pre-rolls, display space and sponsorship opportunities on the site.

Gary Cole, online sales director at ITV, said: 'Last year we saw huge demand on The X Factor website for clips and additional content around the contestant's and the judge's fashion and make-up.'
