Glaxo Wellcome gave Rapp Collins' London agency its first assignment in the sector in 1996 in a project for an Asthma Patient Marketing pilot.
Rapp Collins Europe CEO and WWAV Rapp Collins group chairman Chris Gordon says: "We have now reached a point where we work for six of the top 10 global pharmaceutical companies and it makes strategic sense for us to create a separate brand identity and give the division the opportunity to actively market itself and aggressively grow its already impressive client list."
Headed by managing director Marco Scognamiglio and based at Rapp Collins' Riverside HQ in Hammersmith, the 20-strong healthcare team currently works for companies including Pfizer, Abbott, Organon, Roche and GSK, and is heavily engaged with global and US teams wishing to extend their consumer marketing outside of the US.
National and international projects for clients have so far included direct to consumer disease awareness campaigns for Abbott, consumer relationship marketing for Pfizer, as well as switch programmes, database development, digital infrastructure, patient insights and research, telemarketing consultancy and execution, and ethical partnerships brokering and management.
