The move follows the agency's involvement in several online campaigns, including the Summer Sun 2005 launch campaign for Airtours and retail outlet Going Places, both for MyTravel.
Hartley starts this month, having most recently been client services director/marketing strategist with digital agency Reading Room. She also spent several years at global interactive marketing agency Modem Media in Paris working with clients such as IBM, Alcatel and France Telecom.
Helen Simpson, WWAV Rapp Collins Leeds managing director, said: "Claire has a fantastic track record in digital marketing across a whole range of sectors. She will bring a new level of expertise into the agency and I'm confident she can contribute significantly both with existing client digital requirements and by helping us secure more online marketing work."
The agency has recently completed online campaigns for Martini, Center Parcs and Liverpool FC.
