The NAS, which is the UK's leading autism charity, is seeking to raise awareness of the condition and to highlight the help and support that the organisation offers sufferers of autism and Asperger's syndrome.
The campaign will start at the end of August and forms a range of activity including broadcast, online, traditional DM and print, funded by Vodafone as part of a three-year cause-related marketing partnership.
Vodafone announced its link-up with the charity in March 2004. The campaign will be overseen by Mark Bond, Vodafone UK's director of business marketing.
Donors will be encouraged to make a donation through the NAS or by calling the NAS donation line on 08702 33 44 40.
The money raised will go towards a 24-hour support programme offering help and advice on autism by phone or online.
The NAS has been helping those affected by autism for more than 40 years with services such as helplines and training, from schools to adult services.
Gail Cookson, client service director of WPN, said: "To raise the organisation's profile and make the public more aware of autism is tough challenge, and we believe we can utilise our combination of brand planning and DM skills to achieve the demanding targets set."
According to the NAS, while 80% of the public is aware of autism, just under 40% of those admit to knowing very little about it.
Mike Colling & Co has been appointed to handle the media buying and support fundraising targets, employee communications and awareness of the charity's volunteering programme.
The NAS is hosting the inaugural national Day for Autism on September 25 in Leicester Square, London.
