Dobson, a 15-year veteran and co-founder of EuroDirect, will remain at the company in the role of new business development director. The move is part of Dobson’s long-held plan to scale down his involvement in the company.
“John knows the sector inside out and we’re delighted that he’ll continue to be involved in the business.” Worboys said. “Our new group structure is one that clients have already embraced. This coupled with our existing talent pools prepares us well for 2009.”
Worboys is one of the most high profile players in database marketing. She originally sold Broadsystem to News International in 2000 and then led the sale of the company to CIG earlier this year. At the same time, Worboys became a main CIG board director.
A major contributor to the Call Centre Association, Worboys also serves on the IDM and the DMA's Data Councils.
During Dobson’s tenure at the EuroDirect helm, the company twice won the coveted Supplier of the Year prize in Marketing Direct’s Smart Awards. In 2006 the company announced record year-end results with pre-tax profits up by 14 per cent, adding Npower and Royal Mail to an expanding client list that includes 400 of the UK's top 1,000 companies.
Dobson has been behind the launch of several successful supplier companies, starting with BDMS in 1983. In 1994 he met the three Green brothers and established EuroDirect and GMAP Consulting, subsequently bought out by Skipton Building Society.
