Wood steps down as ITN chief executive

LONDON - ITN's Mark Wood is stepping down as chief executive after six years at the helm to pursue opportunities outside the company. He will remain in his role as chairman for a period of time to assist a smooth transition.

During Wood’s tenure, ITN has secured long-term news contracts with both ITV and Channel 4, in addition to developing its video clips business, ITN Source, and the 24-hour Setanta Sports news channel.

Wood said he was proud ITN was flourishing as a diversified multimedia company. He said ITN has a dynamism creativity and momentum which will ensure it achieves sustained growth and profitability in the future.

The ITN board is set to announce a new chief executive shortly, according to a spokesman.
