Forming part of the BFC’s hat-design programme, Headonism, Wedgwood will display the work of four of the scheme’s designers at a pop-up showroom at London Fashion Week. Wedgwood chose the theme of ‘a unique tea cosy’ to inspire the milliners.
The launch event will take place on 12 September at the Designer Showrooms in the East Wing of Somerset House, LFW’s main venue. The cosies will be on display to LFW-goers until 16 September.
Sally Warmington, marketing director EMEA of Wedgwood, said: "In inviting the Headonism milliners to participate in Project Tea Cosy, we offer them the chance to explore the inspirational skills and craft of Wedgwood.
"We are looking forward to seeing them apply their own design flair and creative skill to a piece that embraces an iconic ceramic form: the Wedgwood Tea Pot. It’s a perfect fit: a tea cosy is to a teapot what a hat is to a head."
Headonism was originally launched during the BFC’s 25 year celebrations in 2009 by Boris Johnson, Mayor of London. Curated by renowned milliner Stephen Jones, Awon Golding, Lizzie McQuade, Emma Yeo and Keely Hunter are the designers set to showcase their work.
