The campaign, which breaks on August 15 and continues the "give something back" theme, features a cat named Poppet and dogs Dougie and Jock, and aims to follow the success of the "Molly" ad, which ran in 2003.
The spot uses a voiceover from 'This Life' and 'Teachers' star Andrew Lincoln, who also featured in the Molly TV spot.
The DRTV campaign is aiming to increase the charity's donor base to help fund the service, which provides free veterinary services to the sick and injured pets of people who can not afford veterinary fees.
Gail Cookson, client services director for WPN, said: "The tremendous success of the first commercial convinced us that 'the ahh factor' was absolutely the right creative direction to engage the public, and convey the serious messages behind PDSA.
"It allows the potential donor base to fully understand and empathise with the fantastic work the charity undertakes everyday in caring for many of our best friends."
The ad was written by Diane Williams, senior copywriter at WPN and art direction by Mick Eglinton. Media has been planned and bought by Mike Colling & Co.
