Fans of the TV show, which airs on NBC in the US, and gamers will be able to run their own Chicago hospital ward with lots of slamming doors, constant sirens and echoing shouts of "GSW".
The consumer products arms of Warner Brothers has signed a deal with developer Legacy Interactive to develop a videogame based on the show.
The game will allow players will take on the role of an intern in the ER and build their careers through the game. Legacy said that the game will feature characters based on the TV shows with some of the star's voices.
There is no news if the game will include new Brit arrival Parminder Nagra, the 'Bend it like Beckham' star who has just joined the show.
For those unfamiliar with the genre, Legacy has already developed a number of medical-based videogames based on medical scenarios including 'Emergency Room: Code Red', where you play an overworked and underpaid ER resident at a large urban hospital -- sound familiar?
Legacy is also behind games such as 'Combat Media' and '911 Paramedic'. As well as medical games, Legacy is behind such TV games franchises as those based on the 'Law & Order' show.
The 'ER' PC game is set for release in autumn 2004 and will be distributed by Take-Two Interactive Software.
While 'ER' might to some sound like an unlikely game to play, there are more in the works that sound even more unlikely. UK games firm Codemasters, for instance, is making a game for the Fox network based on 'American Idol'.
