Wallace and Gromit to make online debut

LONDON - Aardman Animations has re-launched its website, allowing Wallace and Gromit fans to watch content online.

Wallace and Gromit to make online debut

Online video specialists ROO group have worked with Aardman on the new website for the Oscar-winning British series, which includes a new media player on its homepage.
It is the first time that footage of the animation - which spawned movies including “The Wrong Trousers” and “Curse of the Were-Rabbit” - has been made openly available online.
The media player will link through to a main portal, where fans can watch the large selection of clips in full-screen format. The site will also be used to showcase future Wallace and Gromit material.
The free footage will be funded through video advertising. Advertisers targeting families are expected to snap up the banner ads and pre-roll video ads that will be sold by ROO.
Aardman Animations head of online, Paul Deane, said the partnership would allow the site to run “our own Wallace and Gromit channel”.
