
Aardman has signed an exclusive promotional partnership with Orange UK to tie in with the release of new feature film Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-rabbit, which will include movie downloads, wallpapers, voice tones and screensavers.
Aardman is also making its extensive archive available to Orange UK, Vodafone, O2 and Three UK, including Wallace and Gromit classics, and animations such as Creature Comforts, Angry Kid, Rex the Runt and Morph.
The global plans include licensing deals with mobile partner Minick for Latin America and northern and eastern European territories, Starcut for South-East Asia, Player X for Scandinavia and Buongiorno for France, Italy, Brazil, Greece, Morocco, Portugal, Australia and New Zealand. Aardman has also signed direct contracts with 3 Australia and Telecom New Zealand and has an imminent deal in Japan in the pipeline.
All the deals were brokered by Aardman's mobile agent, Crucible Media.
Aardman has developed its own in-house mobile production capability and is also using mobile content specialists Edpic.
