Vodafone hosts competition to give volunteers £45,000 to work overseas

The World of Difference scheme is being promoted via social networks including Facebook as well as via the Foundation's website. It will provide the winners with a salary of up to £25,000 as well as £20,000 in expenses.

‘The World of Difference initiative aims to move beyond cheque-book charity, toward something much more engaging,' said the Foundation's director Andrew Dunnet.

The competition closes on 30 July and winners will be announced in September.

The Vodafone Foundation was launched in June 2002 to support Vodafone operating companies' commitment to charitable giving. It has invested more than £100m in projects since 2002.
