T-Mobile's parent company, Deutsche Telekom, has appointed consultancy JPMorgan to assess whether a sale of the UK business should be carried out, according to the Financial Times.

Any deal would give Vodafone a 40% share of the UK market. Telefónica-owned O2 is the current market leader, occupying a 27% share, followed by Vodafone with 25% and Orange with 22%.

Earlier this month, T-Mobile has appointed branding agency Dave to work on its overarching brand strategy over a five-year period.

Last month, T-Mobile held a flash-mob karaoke event in Trafalgar Square as part of its ‘Life's for sharing' ad campaign. The event involved 13,000 people and featured a live performance by pop star Pink.
