Vodafone contracts back in Carphone Warehouse next week

LONDON - The Carphone Warehouse has confirmed that Vodafone has agreed to return its contract sales to its retail outlets next week.

Vodafone contracts back in Carphone Warehouse next week

The deal ends a three-year dispute. In 2006, Vodafone ended a tie to Carphone and switched to an exclusive agreement with rival Phones4U, which committed to signing up 30,000 Vodafone customers a month.

Carphone's shares fell 14% on the day the contract loss was announced, with analysts estimating the chain could lose about £20m of annual earnings.

Phones 4u insisted that its relationship with Vodafone was still secure. MD Brendan Sweeney said it had a new 'multi-year' partnership in place.
