Santo takes on global Vodafone ad account

LONDON - Vodafone has shifted its global creative ad account from BBH to Santo, the little-known Argentinean ad agency backed by WPP, it has emerged.

Santo last year opened offices in London and has WPP as a majority shareholder.

Santo has worked with Unilever's Lux brand and is working with Coca-Cola for its global marketing for the 2010 Fifa World Cup in South Africa.

Vodafone's global brand director David Wheldon insisted BBH would remain Vodafone's UK ad agency.

WPP is expected to also take on media responsibilities for Vodafone following plans to consolidate its £800m global media costs.
