Christine Mitchell has been appointed as Video Networks's new executive director of TV and internet product. Mitchell is currently chair of the Royal Television Society's Future TV Committee and was previously director of programming at Telewest.
For the past year, Mitchell has been working as a private consultant to the television industry, with clients including BSkyB and Disney.
Her new role at Video Networks sees her take responsibility for the strategic direction of HomeChoice's television, internet and commercial services products. She reports to Dean Hawkins, Video Networks's chief operating officer.
Simon Peachey has been appointed as executive director of development at Video Networks. He joins the business from Reuters, where he was director of data development.
His new role will see him look after the technical development of the HomeChoice services, reporting to managing director Gideon Senensieb.
Vijay Sodiwala has been named executive director of telephony with responsibility for the strategic management of HomeChoice telephony services, which will be launched later this year. Sodiwala joins from News Corporation-owned Broadsystem Ventures where he was managing director for the past four years. He will also report to Hawkins.
Home Choice recently launched a £2m marketing campaign to push its service and 80+ digital channels. The creative builds around the "Demand More" tagline and focuses on how HomeChoice offers more than 1,000 on-demand movies, and channels including Sky Sports and Sky Movies, TV programmes on demand and a replay service.
