Founded last year, the network has run 180 advertising campaigns across its 300-plus network of publishers, with more than 100 million video views a month.
Intelligent network technology standardises ad specifications to ensure compatibility with any embedded media player.

Sam Kayum, managing director of smartclip UK, said the uptake of online video ads had been "relatively slow" across Europe because it is seen as being more complicated than traditional TV advertising.

However, Smartclip's network claims to offer online video campaigns as easily as booking TV campaigns, "but with an added level of measurability that can demonstrate a tangible value".

Smartclip has offices in Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Madrid and London. European clients include Alfa Romeo, O2, Johnson & Johnson, Nintendo, Disney, Universal Group and Nokia.
