In addition, the company is currently working with around 12 to 15 brands in the UK, according to David Kohl, Vevo’s executive vice president, sales and customer operations.
Kohl said: "Numerous brands are looking to do innovative partnerships with us, whether it is to sponsor an original live series or video premieres. We are having many conversations with brands right now."
Kohl and Vevo president and chief executive Rio Caraeff are currently in the UK to help launch the site, following its pre-launch in January this year.
General Motors is the latest brand to sponsor original content on the site, in Vevo's biggest production yet, starring rappers JayZ and Kanye West, which will roll out to the UK and US sites at the end of this week.
Vevo is also working with MediaCom, Mindshare, MEC, ZenithOptimedia, PHD, OMD in the UK, and is looking to create agency deals for premium ads on the site.
So far Vevo has appointed a UK staff of 25 in marketing, production, programming and ad sales roles, operating out of its new office, located on London's Tottenham Court Road.
Vevo said it is still building the team and is yet to announce the executive roles, though Jonathan Lewis, is expected to be named managing director.
Caraeff said: "Ideally we would have liked to assemble the team fully at launch, but there was such demand from the UK coming to Vevo from YouTube, we decided to launch and then add to the team over time."
The core functions of the London team will be sales, building relationships with brands and agencies, content programming and marketing.
While Vevo has "dozens" of syndication partners in the US, including CBS and AOL it is yet to announce UK partners.
Caraeff said: "We are going to continue to expand the platform with broadcasters, portals and lifestyle businesses and make Vevo everywhere the fan is."
He said: "All broadcasters" in the UK, including Sky and Virgin, have "reached out" to Vevo to either "figure out" access to its content or business relationships. "We are in the midst of these discussions and have nothing to announce yet."
Vevo was launched by Universal, Sony and Abu Dhabi Media Company in partnership with Google in the US just over 18 months ago.
