Home is the product of a merger between arts organisations Cornerhouse and the Library Theatre Company.
The space, in the city's new First Street development, will be a centre for international contemporary art, theatre, film and books when it opens at the end of April. The £25m project was partly funded by Arts Council England and Manchester City Council. Dutch architect Mecanoo designed the building.
Alongside acting as a creative hub for the arts, Home will provide spaces for meetings, cultural experiences, mid-sized conferences, corporate events and parties. Venues for hire include two theatres, the first of which can host up to 500 guests, five cinemas, a 500sqm gallery space and a meeting room with outside terrace, able to host 100 for a reception. Home expects to be offering its full event hire service from the autumn.
