The manufacturer, in the process of being sold by parent company General Motors to Canadian parts manufacturer Magna, will host a roller disco entitled Vauxhall Skate, which it describes as ‘70's disco meets Knight Rider on roller skates'.

Vauxhall Skate, set to take place on 29 July in Shoreditch, east London, will feature a number of DJs, including former Libertines musician Carl Barat, pop star Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Brit Award-winner Florence from Florence and the Machines, and actor Alfie Allen, the brother of singer Lily Allen.

The logo for the event has been designed by illustrator Kate Moross, who has also created a one-off design based on the Vauxhall Corsa.

In recent years, Vauxhall has attempted to position itself closer to cutting edge British style and design with a number a sponsorship projects, including the annual Art Car Boot Fair in east London, the UK Beatbox Championships and TV show Britain's Next Top Model on Living.
