User-generated content channel YourKindaTV to launch

LONDON - User-generated content digital channel YourKindaTV is to launch later this month.

The channel, which is aimed primarily at 18- to 30-year-old students and office workers, will feature and mobile phone content, with a daily show to be made available to download to iPods through .

Chief operating officer Michael Oxley and chief executive officer Jason Westhorpe, who founded the company together, predict that viewing figures for YourKindaTV will reach 100,000 viewers a week over the next year.

The makers said the channel completed a positive trial with a test audience, and would now be broadcasting a five- to seven-minute programme each day from the end of the month, featuring a sports round-up, entertainment news and interviews.

Oxley said: "The daily show will be fast-paced so that it can be enjoyed online during a break at work, or during the daily commute on a mobile phone or iPod."

He explained that the primary focus of its daily shows, which will air from 10am, would be on gossip and the hot topics of the day: "Our show will also be an open dialogue where our viewers' contributions make up an equal part of the show."

Oxley added: "Both our technology and approach allows for a very personal relationship with our users. This should help us capitalise on the growing demand for an engaging and entertaining online and mobile content through the creation of a new digital space."

The daily show will be hosted by presenters Simon Jones and Ellen Buxton.
