The fastest man in the world Usain Bolt ran on a track created by UK-based event supplier Event Floor to smash the world record for the 150 metres, clocking in at 14.35 seconds.
The firm created a level surface on the uneven streets around Deansgate in Manchester to make the track suitable for a world record attempt.
"With 2012 in the offing we hope to be able to provide similar facilities to other athletic promotions in the years to come," said Event Floor director Rob Page.
