
Kronfeld, who has been with Universal since 1991, will be responsible for developing global marketing strategies for the company's global artists, who include Lady Gaga and Rihanna.
He will report to Max Hole, chief operating officer of Universal Music Group International, and be based between London and New York.
Kronfeld also has responsibility for Cooperative Music, Universal’s alternative international licensing organisation, and for the development of rock label Spinefarm.
Kronfeld was formerly executive vice president, international marketing, at Universal Music Group, which did not cover North America.
