UNICEF takes its greetings cards online

UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund, is to launch a global e-greetings offering to complement its card business.

This will involve the creation of a test portal in five European markets, including the UK, where UNICEF aims to create a 'best-in-class' e-greetings site.

Interactive marketing agency Fullsix won the business in a seven-way competitive pitch.

Roger Keczkes, UNICEF Geneva brand group head, said: "UNICEF is eager to meet consumer demand with a range of electronic greetings."

Steve Baer, chief operating officer at Fullsix, said: "We will be investigating whether people will pay for e-greetings and mobile greetings from the site."
