Glasgow 2014 and the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) and Unicef have forged the partnership, which will see money raised for the Children of the Commonwealth Fund in the run-up to and during the Games.
The opening ceremony, taking place on 23 July at Celtic Park and expected to attract 60,000 spectators, will showcase a video featuring international singer Nicole Scherzinger, cycling legend Sir Chris Hoy, cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar, former Manchester United football club manager Sir Alex Ferguson and Line of Duty actress Keeley Hawes.
A 90-second trailer has already been released with exclusive footage which captures the stars and the children they met across the Commonwealth. It will be shown in the opening ceremony, culminating in this unifying fundraising moment.
The Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games opening and closing ceremonies are being delivered by agency Jack Morton Worldwide. The closing ceremony will be held at Scotland’s Hampden Park stadium for a live audience of up to 44,000 on 3 August.
