Plans for the store, which has been constructed entirely from shipping containers, were first announced in early June. Doors were opened on 14 July, and will close after four weeks on 6 August.

The pop-up, dubbed the Bru Store, is a first for AG Barr. Inside, fans of the orange soft drink can buy a range of limited branded merchandise, including key rings, pyjamas, hoodies and onesies.

The store is operated by the brand’s retail partner Trespass, which has overseen all areas of production including store design.

Afzal Khushi, director of Trespass, said: "We are delighted to provide AG Barr with retail assistance for their first ever Irn-Bru pop-up store. Trespass is proud and privileged to have the opportunity of playing an important and integral role in ensuring a successful Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games."

Adrian Troy, head of marketing for AG Barr, added: "We’re extremely proud of our heritage in Glasgow, so opening our first retail store during the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games is truly exciting moment in the brand’s history.

"Our Bru Store is filled from ceiling to floor, giving Scots and visitors to the city the first chance to buy some of our most highly sought after merchandise."

The store opening forms part of Irn-Bru’s 'Born to support' campaign, which also included a photobooth that toured the country capturing footage of fans of the drink jumping around in slow motion. The brand also appeared in the opening ceremony of the Games last night (23 July), with cans of the drink seen supporting a replica of the Fourth Rail Bridge.
