As well as three different cover portraits for the front cover taken from three distinct phases in the band's 25-year history, each CD will have a different cover.
The three-disc REM collection will feature: 'Michael Stipe Presents...' with bands including The Checks and Magnapop; 'Mike Mills Presents...' featuring US underground rock The Jayhawks and Soul Asylum; while 'Peter Buck Presents...' sees a mix of new and classic tracks from the likes of Smog and The Go-Betweens.
In addition, all three CDs will feature a live REM track 'Around the Sun'.
REM lead singer Stipe said: "It was really cool compiling a CD of great music for Uncut and it's great that we all got to do it on our own."
The August special editions mark the end of Uncut's partnership with REM after sponsoring their current UK tour.
Seperately, Uncut announced it was partnering the 25th Cambridge Film Festival and the Robert Mitchum season at the National Film Theatre.
As well as sponsoring the late-night film showing at Cambridge, Uncut will run the festival timetable in its August issue, hold a special gala event and run a competition for VIP tickets to the festival.
The National Film Theatre deal will see Uncut branding at the July and August retrospective to celebrate the life of Hollywood icon Mitchum at the National Film Theatre in London.
