Ultralase awards business to DS-J

LONDON - Laser-vision correction and cosmetic surgery specialist Ultralase has hired DS-J to handle its direct account.

The agency has been briefed to oversee a range of activity, including online campaigns.

The work will promote Ultralase's expanded offering; following its acquisition by Spanish medical aesthetics company Corporacion Dermoestica, it added cosmetic surgery to its portfolio.

The appointment follows the hiring of Donor Cardwell Hawkins to the brand's advertising account, worth an estimated £5m, in July.

Earlier this year, an Ultralase TV campaign featuring a naked woman prompted 16 complaints, as the ad was shown before the watershed. However, they were dismissed by the Advertising Standards Authority.

Ultralase, has carried out more than 100,000 laser-eye treatments.
