Turner goes viral for Cartoon Network

LONDON - Cartoon Network, the Turner Broadcasting-owned TV channel, has created its first viral marketing campaign, featuring Robotboy, a cartoon broadcast on the Cartoon Network channel. It launched today through the website robotboy.co.uk.

Digital agency Ralph created the game Robotboy: Professor Moshimo's Robot Testing Lab, to raise the profile of the cartoon, which airs at 4pm every weekday.

The game gives fans ownership of a virtual robot that they train to develop various skills, with their efforts rewarded with weekly prizes from Turner.

The site features excerpts from episodes of the cartoon, as well as information on the star characters.

Turner will distribute the viral via blogs and forums, as well as sending it to its database of users.
