Trisha to dish out advice as Love It!'s agony aunt

LONDON - News Magazines' real-life weekly Love It! has hired Trisha Goddard, the queen of daytime TV talkshows, as its new agony aunt and has also installed her as the voice of a radio campaign breaking next week.

The host of TV's 'The Trisha Goddard Show' on Five joins Love It! after research revealed her to be the celebrity that readers would most likely turn to for credible and relevant advice.

Karen Pasquali Jones, editor of Love It! magazine, said: "Trisha is an amazing person and a fantastic addition to the Love It! team. Our readers love her, and because she's been through it all herself, she can give the best advice."

Renowned for her straight-talking and practical approach to real-life issues, Goddard previously trained in conflict resolution and spent 20 years working in the mental health sector, some of which were as an adviser with the Australian government.

Goddard said: "I feel so excited and privileged to be joining Love It!. I have had my own struggles with marriage breakdowns and depression and I've learnt that straight-talking is all that's needed."

Her appointment coincides with the magazine's return to television screens today with its "Don't you just love it" ads featuring a pole-dancing granny, a woman watching football training while singing "Any one of them could be my baby's dad" and a bride who has just discovered her husband dresses in ladies' lingerie. This week's edition has a special low cover price of 30p.

The new radio campaign featuring the voice of Goddard will start next Monday. Readers will be able to email Trisha at trisha@loveitmagazine.co.uk.
