LONDON - Travelodge has lodged a complaint with the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) over Premier Inn's £29-a-room Christmas promotional campaign fronted by the actor Lenny Henry, according to The Times.

The complaint is based on a claim made by Travelodge that it is ‘very near impossible' for customers to find a room for the promotional price when they click on the ‘quick bookings' facility.

Travelodge also claims that it is ‘misleading and confusing for consumers' but acknowledges that some £29 rooms are available but only through clicking on the ‘Premier Offers' part of the website.

The dispute comes at a time of increasing heavy promotions at hotel chains as they seek to respond to big falls in occupancy.
