The Football Association has appointed Adrian Wells as its new head of marketing. He replaces Simon Freedman, the group head of marketing, who left the organisation in August to take up a role at mobile operator O2. ()

Reckitt Benckiser has appointed Volker Sydow, the group marketing director at the recently acquired SSL, as global category director to lead development for "powerbrands" Durex and Scholl. ()

Andy Brent, the former BSkyB marketing director, has resurfaced at biodegradable bottle company GreenBottle as managing director. ()

Former Coca-Cola GB marketing director Cathryn Sleight will join FMCG giant Unilever next month as global vice-president for Knorr. ()

Warburton's commercial director Roz Cuschieri has moved to Genius Foods, the gluten-free food specialist, as a director of the company, with responsibility for developing the Genius brand in the UK. ()

Wickes has appointed Tony Holdway from Shop Direct as brand director. ()

Haier Europe has promoted Duan Wei to market director Haier UK & Ireland, and hired Jeff Moody as its new sales and marketing director. ()

Chocolatier Thorntons has appointed Caffe Nero managing director Jonathan Hart as its new group chief executive. ()

Upstream, the mobile marketing solutions provider, has recruited Nokia's Dirk Williamson as its vice-president of global sales. ()

, digital content director at Trinity Mirror, has reversed his decision to leave the company for another job, after being given the role of publisher of a new digital unit at the company. In addition, Dave Raywood, currently marketing director at MEN Media, takes the role of digital commercial director of the company's regional division with a brief to "accelerate delivery of the division's digital plans". As a result of the changes, David Black's role as group director of digital publishing has been made redundant and Trinity Mirror has entered into consultation with him about his future role within the company. ()

Clear Channel UK has appointed Neil Chapman as group head of Create, the outdoor media company's innovation division. ()

John Dale is set to leave his position as editor of H Bauer's Take a Break after 20 years working for the women's true-life weekly from its beginnings. ()

Vivat Direct, the company which acquired the Reader's Digest brand this year, has appointed David Titmuss as its new chief executive following Chris Spratling's departure in July, as well as making a number of senior hires on the management team. ()

Jamie Lindsay, former director of national sales at JCDecaux, has been appointed as managing director, commercial, at in-flight specialist Brand Connections Global as it ramps up its operations in Europe. ()
